After helping induct LL Cool J in 2021, Marshall is now headed to the Hall.

Today (May 4) Eminem was announced as a member of the 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees. Em will be joined by fellow legendary musicians Duran Duran, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Dolly Parton, Pat Benatar, Eurythmics, Lionel Richie, and Carly Simon. The entire class will be inducted into the Hall during a ceremony set to take place in Los Angeles on Nov. 5.

“It’s a happy moment,” says Denaun Porter, Eminem’s longtime friend, producer, and D12 member. “It’s a win for the home team.”

Eminem will be the 2022 class’s only first ballot hall of famer, as this will be his first eligible year. He would release his debut album, Infinite, in 1996, before exploding on the scene with his 1999 major label debut The Slim Shady LP.

Eminem is among the best-selling music artists of all time, with estimated worldwide sales of over 220 million records. His 2002 single “Lost Yourself” would mark the first time a hip hop artist would win the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

He is also the tenth hip hop artist (and fifth solo act) to be inducted, following Jay-Z and LL Cool J (2021), The Notorious B.I.G. (2020), 2Pac (2017), N.W.A. (2016), Public Enemy (2012), The Beastie Boys (2012), Run DMC (2009) and Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five (2007).

Following JAY-Z and LL Cool J in 2021.
