The Queen released ‘Break My Soul (Remix)’ and paid homage to the women in the industry. With a spin on Madonna‘s 1990 ‘Vogue’ hit,

Mentioning Jill Scott, Chloe Bailey, Janet Jackson, Nicki Minaj, Alicia Keys, and a lot more, the award-winning artist was sure to give the gworlz their flowers!

Strike a pose, there’s nothing to it (You know you can do it)
Vogue (Do it, do it, do it)
Ah (Ah-ah-ah, la-la-la, la-la-la-la-la-la)
Mother of the House, ah (Ah-ah-ah, la-la-la)
Michelle, Chlöe, Halle, Aaliyah (La-la-la-la-la-la, Mother of the house)
Alicia, Whitney, RiriNicki (Ah-ah-ah, la-la-la, la-la-la-la-la-la, House Xtravaganza)
House of Revlon, House of LaBeija (La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la)
House of Amazon, the House of Aviance (La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la)

‘Renaissance’ Controversy

While the mother of three has social media in a chokehold, ‘Renaissance’ did not come without its fair share of controversy.

R&B singer Kelis took to IG to express her dissatisfaction with Beyoncé sampling her song on ‘Energy.’ The 40-year-old quietly removed the mother of two from the music shortly after.

My mind is blown too because the level of disrespect and utter ignorance of all 3 parties involved is astounding. I heard about this the same way everyone else did. Nothing is ever as it seems, some of the people in this business have no soul or integrity and they have everyone fooled.

Beyoncé also had to replace the lyric ‘spaz’ with ‘blast’ after receiving backlash.

BLACK DISABLED PEOPLE EXIST. Yes, Black people are unfairly held to a higher standard. But, that does not lessen the validity of the concern. Spaz is an ableist slur, stop trying to make everything untouchable AAVE because you don’t want to understand the intersections. https://t.co/bAH5bLICcG

She received backlash after “Renaissance” dropped because she used the word “spaz,” which is viewed by the disabled community and those in the UK as an ableist slur.

In the track titled “Heated,” the mother of three  says: “Sp*zzin’ on that a**, sp*z on that a**.” She recently changed the lyric to “blast.”

Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Surpasses 200 Million Streams On Spotify

Though the platinum-selling singer had some challenges, that didn’t stop the project from becoming  number one.

The album has surpassed 200 million streams on Spotify, and is number one on the charts.
